Originating at the foothills of mountains, the River Poddle weaves its way through town and country alike. Then, this ancient river suddenly disappears. But deep below Dublin Castle, it makes its way onward. Unseen by passersby above, the river flows through secret culverts and tunnels eight hundred feet down. Under the damp and dank castle walls, the voices of the past certainly will be heard in the echoes of the flow. With paint in tones of murky blue and mossy green, this canvas summons our imagination of this remarkable place.
